The Ministry of Health convened a pivotal meeting to strategize advancements in science, technology, and digital transformation within the healthcare sector. Chaired by Minister Đào Hồng Lan, the session underscored the urgency of integrating technological innovations to enhance healthcare services nationwide.
This initiative aligns with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, issued on December 22, 2024, which calls for breakthroughs in national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Subsequently, the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15, dated February 19, 2025, introduced pilot mechanisms and policies to foster these developments. The government’s Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP, enacted on January 9, 2025, outlines a comprehensive action program to implement these directives.
Minister Lan emphasized the critical need for healthcare institutions to adopt scientific and technological applications in their daily operations. She highlighted that embracing digital transformation is not only a strategic move but also an urgent requirement to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
The meeting also addressed challenges in implementing these initiatives, particularly in training healthcare professionals to effectively utilize new technologies. The Ministry plans to collaborate with educational institutions and tech companies to develop training programs, ensuring that medical staff are well-equipped for the digital shift.
This effort is part of a broader movement in the Asia-Pacific region, where countries are increasingly investing in digital health solutions to cope with rising healthcare demands. Vietnam’s proactive approach aims to position its healthcare system at the forefront of technological innovation, ensuring accessible and efficient care for its population.
