“Dr. Sharma is a world-renowned physician recognized for his clinical judgment, commitment to patient-centered care, and contributions to the field,” said Jonathan Ng, founder and CEO of Iterative Health. “His experience will help strengthen our therapeutic expertise, protocol and trial design, and scientific publications, ultimately helping our sites move studies forward with the excellence and rigor sponsors expect.”

Dr. Sharma is director of the S.P. and Seema Lohia Cardiovascular Clinical Institute and director of interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Health System, where he also serves as president of the Mount Sinai Heart Network. With more than 30 years of experience, he is one of the most awarded cardiologists for his contributions to medical science. He is also credited with pioneering the use of the Rotablator technique for complex, calcified coronary blockages, has authored more than 350 peer-reviewed articles, and sits on the editorial boards of several cardiology journals. Dr. Sharma is passionate about medical education, mentoring fellows and experienced cardiologists alike through innovative teaching methods, including symposiums and live-broadcast cases that reach thousands.

“There’s a real gap between what a trial protocol asks for and what’s actually workable at the bedside, and it can cost a study valuable time,” said Dr. Sharma. “Iterative Health has built a research network around closing that gap, and it’s an honor to help the company strengthen its impact in advancing cardiology research.”

The appointment follows Iterative Health’s recent US site network expansion, including the acquisition of established cardiology research sites from NextStage Clinical Research and a strategic partnership with US Heart & Vascular. The company’s network spans more than 100 high-performing sites across three continents in GI, hepatology, obesity, and cardiology research.
