New location brings specialized workforce health services to employers and employees across the Florida Panhandle and surrounding region
PENSACOLA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Concentra®, the nation’s leader in occupational medicine, today announced the opening of its first medical center in Pensacola, expanding its presence to the Florida Panhandle and providing greater access to occupational health services for employers and employees across the region, including those in neighboring Alabama communities who previously did not have access to a Concentra medical center.
The new center strengthens Concentra’s ability to support employers across key regional industries, including aviation, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, defense, health care, financial services, and maritime – all industries critical to the area.
“Local businesses and industries that exist in our community depend on strong partners and services that help them operate effectively and support their teams,” said Todd Thomson, president and CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber. “Concentra’s investment in Pensacola adds another resource for employers and strengthens the infrastructure that supports our region’s workforce.”
“Pensacola’s diverse economy depends on a healthy, productive workforce,” said Deb Dailey, senior vice president of operations, Southeast, at Concentra. “This new center gives area employers a local resource designed specifically around their needs, with convenient access to specialized occupational health services and a team that understands the connection between employee health and business performance.”
The Pensacola medical center brings Concentra’s workforce health model to life through services designed around the needs of employers and their employees, including work injury care, physical therapy, Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations, pre-placement physicals, medical surveillance, respirator fit testing, drug and alcohol screening, and other workforce health services. Concentra Telemed® is also available for eligible minor work-related injuries. Together, these services support employers across the workforce health continuum, from hiring and readiness through injury recovery and return-to-work.
Employers also have access to digital tools that help streamline authorization, provide access to results, and support injury case management, giving HR and safety teams greater visibility while reducing administrative burden.
“When an employee needs care, employers need confidence in both the treatment and what happens next,” said Janet Cobb, MD, senior vice president of medical operations at Concentra. “Our local clinical team will work closely with patients and employers to deliver appropriate care, communicate clearly, support safe recovery, and help employees return to work and function.”
As Concentra expands its presence in Florida, the company is also providing employers with resources to help strengthen workplace injury management. Its Managing Workplace Injuries in Florida: A Strategic Guide for Businesses offers practical guidance on injury response, return-to-work planning, workforce continuity, and strategies that can help employers reduce lost time and operational disruption. The new Concentra medical center is located at 6235 North Davis Highway, Suite 113, Pensacola, Florida 32504. Community leaders, local employers, and members of the regional business community will celebrate the opening with a ribbon-cutting event Oct. 27 at the new medical center.
As part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Concentra will present a $10,000 donation to Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE), a Northwest Florida nonprofit dedicated to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
In the wake of Hurricane Isaias, the contribution reflects Concentra’s commitment to supporting the communities it serves and helping local families and businesses build resilience in the face of natural disasters. The donation will support BRACE’s ongoing efforts to coordinate resources, assist families recovering from disasters, and strengthen emergency preparedness throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
For more than 45 years, Concentra has partnered with employers to help keep America’s workforce healthy and productive. Today, the company serves more than 200,000 employer customers, including 95% of Fortune 500 companies, through one of the nation’s largest occupational health networks. The Concentra Pensacola medical center brings that experience to employers across Northwest Florida for the first time.
