Funding will accelerate AI development, expand the company’s specialty clinic network and support international growth
BEIJING–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GoodMood Holdings, an AI-powered mental healthcare company, today announced it has completed a financing round of nearly $45 million (RMB 300 million), with participation from Imeik Technology, CSC Financial Capital, Wuxi Binhu Industrial Group, Shandong Development and Unifuture Capital.
The company will use the proceeds to advance AI research and development, strengthen its psychiatric and mental health care services, expand its network of in-person specialty clinics and grow internationally. The round brings GoodMood’s shareholder base to nearly 30 institutions and companies.
“Mental health is a global need,” said Chen Guanwei, chairman and CEO of GoodMood Holdings. “Over the past decade, we built and proved our care delivery system and business model in China. Over the next decade, we aim to bring together AI, digital health and specialist mental health care so that high-quality mental health services are no longer limited by geography or the availability of clinical resources.”
Chen said GoodMood’s goal is not to be a single internet healthcare platform, but to build a mental health care system driven jointly by AI, digital health and professional clinical care.
Built on clinical care
Since 2016, GoodMood has built its business on specialist psychiatric and mental health care rather than consumer counseling alone. It combines virtual care, AI, specialty clinics, enterprise mental health programs and clinical research into services spanning prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The company operates two brands: 好心情 (Haoxinqing) in China and MoodVia internationally.
The GoodMood platform has more than 14 million registered users and more than 134,000 registered clinicians, including psychiatrists, counselors and other mental health professionals. The company also operates GoodMood clinics in 24 cities in China, linking online care with in-person specialty treatment.
AI that extends clinicians
GoodMood views AI as a way to help limited clinical resources reach more people, not as a replacement for physicians or therapists. The company applies AI to mental health screening, assessment, patient and clinician triage, clinical decision support, follow-up care, digital therapeutics and care workflows. It is also exploring new applications, including micro-expression recognition and VR-based psychological interventions.
Modernizing workplace mental health
For employers, GoodMood is moving traditional employee assistance programs toward a more digital and clinically grounded model. Its integrated offering combines AI assessment and risk stratification, digital mental health services, psychotherapy, psychiatric care and in-person specialty clinics, helping employers identify, address and treat employee mental health needs. GoodMood serves more than 600 enterprise and institutional clients.
Long-term investor support
GoodMood has completed six prior financing rounds. ByteDance led its Series C of approximately $31 million (RMB 200 million) in 2021. Other shareholders include Nhwa Pharmaceutical (SZSE: 002262), CITIC Medical Fund, 6 Dimensions Capital, Oriental Pearl, KIP, Fosun Health, Xuzhou Industrial Investment and CDIB Capital.
International growth
GoodMood has begun business partnerships in Asia and is exploring Japan, Malaysia and other international markets, with longer-term plans for Europe and the United States. With this round, the company plans to increase its investment in AI, expand its specialty mental health network and accelerate global partnerships.
GoodMood sees mental health as one of the most important and most under-resourced areas of healthcare worldwide. It believes lasting advantage comes from clinical capability, clinician networks, care delivery systems, longitudinal data, AI and consistent delivery of care online and in person.
