LA JOLLA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Hearing at Home LLC, a leading direct-to-consumer provider of cost-effective, reliable hearing aids, announces the appointment of Kevin J. Flick as Chief Financial Officer effective May 1.
Flick is a seasoned financial executive with experience at Goldman Sachs, Hicks, Muse, Tate & First, Ernst & Young, as well as Transatlantic and Canacol in the energy sector.
“Kevin has distinguished himself through his integrity, his strategic acumen, and his unwavering focus on profitable growth wherever he has been,” declared Hearing at Home CEO David G. Burke.
“Kevin’s primary areas of focus will be on accelerating our pursuit of additional EBITDA growth, driving improved operating metrics for brand Nano, profitably launching our new brands, and helping us find the talent to lead and grow our company to achieve our shared purpose.
“I want to say a special thanks to current CFO Chris Meinerz for all his many contributions to Nano Technologies,” said Burke. “Chris served before the core of the current team was in place, and solved many of the early business challenges that came with the acquisition. Those of us here now owe him a debt of gratitude, and I will miss his enthusiastic presence. We all wish Chris the very best in his future endeavors.”
According to the Hearing Loss Association of America, some 48 million Americans have some form of hearing loss. Only 3 out of 10 consumers have received effective treatment for a variety of reasons. Fortune Business Insights predicts the U.S. hearing aids market size is projected to grow from $3.46 billion in 2022 to $5.86 billion by 2029 driven by powerful secular trends.
“Today’s consumer experience is full of stress and pressure,” commented Burke. “From doctor visits to clinical attendance for tests to long waits, and finally to hearing aids costing as much as $8,000 that might not work as promised.
“Hearing at Home intends to permanently extinguish the cognitive overload, leading to better outcomes for a growing community that remains demonstrably underserved by legacy equipment manufacturers protecting a decades-old business model. It is long past time to put consumer needs first,” said Burke. “To grow to realize that objective, Hearing at Home will build advantaged brands, embrace emerging technologies, and existentially seek strategic partners.”
