Experts in genomics and biotechnology will advise MyHeritage on its plans to expand its DNA offerings into additional domains, including health and wellness
TEL AVIV, Israel & LEHI, Utah–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#WholeGenomeSequencing—MyHeritage, the leading global platform for family history and DNA testing, announced today the establishment of a Scientific Advisory Board of experts in genomics, biotechnology, and related fields. The board’s founding members are Yaniv Erlich, PhD, Daniel Kraft, MD, and Jamie Metzl, PhD.
The board will advise MyHeritage as the company expands its DNA offerings into additional domains, including health and wellness, to ensure that its new products have robust scientific foundations. MyHeritage DNA — MyHeritage’s flagship at-home DNA test for genetic genealogy, and the first in the industry to use Whole Genome Sequencing, will remain at the core of the company’s DNA product line.

The establishment of the board also marks the return of Dr. Yaniv Erlich to MyHeritage, this time as an advisor. As the company’s former Chief Science Officer, Dr. Erlich played a key role in the scientific research and development of the MyHeritage DNA test.
The Scientific Advisory Board brings together three leaders in genomics and healthcare technology:
- Yaniv Erlich, PhD: DNA scientist and biotechnology entrepreneur whose research in computational biology and genomics has been published in leading journals including Nature and Science; Co-Founder of ScionxBio; and Co-Founder and CEO of Undecimal Bio. Formerly a professor in Columbia University, he has been dubbed the “Genome Hacker”.
- Daniel Kraft, MD: Stanford and Harvard-trained physician-scientist focused on the future of health and medicine, Adjunct Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, founder of NextMed Health, and founding Chair of Medicine at Singularity University.
- Jamie Metzl, PhD: Author of Hacking Darwin and Superconvergence; former member, WHO Expert Advisory Committee on Human Genome Editing, advisory board member, Harvard Medical School Preventive Genomics and Lake Nona Impact Forum.
