Wilson Sonsini Adds Andrea Linna as a Partner to Fortify Its Digital Health Practice

Linna Advises Healthcare Technology Companies, Investors, and Providers on Healthcare Regulatory Issues

PALO ALTO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, announced today that Andrea Linna has joined the firm’s regulatory department as a partner. She will be a part of the firm’s Digital Health industry group and its FDA Regulatory, Healthcare, and Consumer Products practice. Linna will be based remotely from Chicago and work closely with colleagues and clients across the country.

Prior to joining Wilson Sonsini, Linna was a partner at McGuireWoods, where she co-led that firm’s Digital Health, Technology and Innovation practice group. During the last 10 years, Linna focused her practice on healthcare law and amassed substantial experience representing clients in healthcare regulatory matters related to mergers and acquisitions, data privacy and security, and healthcare IT. Her clients have included healthcare technology start-ups and industry investors, as well as healthcare systems, providers, payers, and facilities with digital health initiatives.

Linna’s addition is the latest move by Wilson Sonsini to expand what is already an established and leading digital health team. The firm represents more than 400 digital health companies, helping them raise more than $30 billion in seed and venture funding since 2000 and representing more than 50 of them in M&A deals worth $13 billion. Wilson Sonsini’s digital health team consists of a cross-disciplinary group of attorneys who have experience in areas of importance to companies, founders, and investors in the sector—from advertising and corporate finance to intellectual property and privacy.

“Our interdisciplinary team continues to work with a growing number of sophisticated and successful digital health companies, as well as the investors that finance them,” said Doug Clark, managing partner, Wilson Sonsini. “As our digital health clients diversify and expand into new markets with new innovations, they seek legal advice in broader areas, including the many regulatory issues that Andrea has focused on for nearly a decade. We are excited to have her join our firm.”

In addition to representing clients, Linna frequently speaks and writes about emerging healthcare and technology topics. She has been quoted by CNBC and Crain’s and has given guest lectures on healthcare law at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, the University of Michigan School of Public Health, Loyola University School of Law, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Linna has been a featured speaker, guest, or author in more than 100 conferences, podcasts, and articles on healthcare law.

“As a healthcare technology lawyer, I see every day the potential that technology has to revolutionize healthcare. I am thrilled to join Wilson Sonsini and collaborate with a team that shares my passion for working with clients at the forefront of technology,” Linna said. “Together, we offer clients unparalleled support in adapting to the rapidly changing healthcare regulatory landscape and ensuring they remain at the cutting edge of innovation.”

Linna earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2012 and a B.S. in nutrition from The Ohio State University in 2009. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.
