The global medical technology industry continues to navigate a rapidly evolving landscape. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digitalization, and connected healthcare are reshaping the sector, while manufacturers and suppliers grapple with regulatory pressures, disrupted supply chains, workforce shortages, and geopolitical uncertainties. Against this backdrop, MEDICA 2025 and COMPAMED 2025 will once again serve as the world’s leading platforms for knowledge exchange, innovation, and business networking.
With the campaign theme “Meet Health. Future. People.”, the 2025 events will bring together several thousand exhibitors showcasing pioneering solutions across the full spectrum of medical technology. Visitors can expect hands-on access to innovations for modern healthcare, complemented by an extensive program of forums, expert talks, and discussions featuring renowned speakers from across the globe.
German Hospital Conference: A Strong Political Opening
The 48th German Hospital Conference will open MEDICA 2025 with notable political participation. German Federal Health Minister Nina Warken and North Rhine-Westphalia Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann are confirmed to attend on 17 November. The conference, held in Hall 10 under the motto “A new start for hospital policy – Courage to make changes”, will spotlight reforms, workforce challenges, and healthcare quality.
Dr. Jens Uwe Schreck, Managing Director of the Association of Hospital Directors Germany (VKD), emphasized the value of hosting the conference within the trade fair halls: “This setting fosters closer exchange between visitors, conference delegates, and exhibitors presenting their innovations.”
Spotlight on Future Technology
Innovation will take center stage at the new MEDICA INNOVATION FORUM (Hall 12), which builds on the success of the MEDICA HEALTH IT FORUM. The program will feature high-level talks, startup contests such as the 14th MEDICA START-UP COMPETITION and the 17th HEALTHCARE INNOVATION WORLD CUP, and showcases of cutting-edge solutions including smart wearables, AI-driven diagnostics, and micro-robotics.
In close proximity, the MEDICA START-UP PARK, the Wearable Technologies Show, and the MEDICA ECON FORUM (organized by Techniker Krankenkasse) will further highlight the role of digital transformation and health system connectivity in shaping tomorrow’s care models.
Start-Ups Driving Innovation
The MEDICA START-UP PARK (Hall 12) will once again attract around 60 trailblazing start-ups. Among the confirmed participants:
- DARERL ApS (Denmark) – creators of anatomical digital twins for product development and wearables.
- HeartHero (USA) – developers of a wearable, user-friendly AED that defibrillates only when necessary.
- OMMO Technologies (USA) – providers of magnet-based 3D tracking systems for precision applications in neurosurgery, orthopedics, and dental interventions.
Covering All Facets of Medicine
Beyond digital health, MEDICA 2025 will cover all areas of modern medicine through its five “worlds of experience”:
- Lab Technology & Diagnostics (featuring the MEDICA FORUM)
- Medical Technology & Electromedicine (with the MEDICA TECH FORUM and “Hospital of the Future”)
- Commodities & Consumables
- Physiotherapy & Orthopedic Technology (with the MEDICA SPORTS HUB)
- Digital Health
These thematic zones will showcase the latest innovations across inpatient and outpatient care, supported by diverse stage programs and special exhibits.
COMPAMED 2025: The Supplier’s Platform
Held in parallel in Halls 8a and 8b, COMPAMED 2025 remains the world’s leading supplier event for medical technology. With five dedicated segments—Manufacturing & Devices, Services & Advice, Materials, Micro Tech, and IT in Tech—COMPAMED highlights critical supplier expertise in components, materials, R&D, and microtechnologies that drive innovation throughout the medical device value chain.
Global Reach and New Services
Following the success of 2024—with over 5,000 exhibitors from 72 nations and 80,000 visitors from 165 countries—a similarly strong international turnout is expected for 2025. Delegations such as a high-profile team from the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) have already confirmed their participation.
