IDEC 2023 has firmly established itself as the trendsetter of dental exhibitions in Indonesia and welcomed a 22% increase in visitor numbers since the last edition in 2019.
JAKARTA, 20 September 2023 – Following a successful three-day run, the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) 2023, organised by Koelnmesse Pte Ltd and PT Traya Eksibisi Internasional in collaboration with the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), has welcomed 5110 visitors from 26 countries across 3 days, a 22% increase in visitor numbers since the last edition in 2019.
With a total of 250 brands representing 14 countries and 3 national pavilions, IDEC 2023 has firmly established itself as the trendsetter of dental exhibitions in Indonesia. This event not only showcased the latest trends in dentistry but also served as a platform for dental healthcare professionals to update their
competencies and network among industry players. The brand-new business matching platform was also well received among exhibitors and attendees, with 70 high-level business meetings set up through the platform.
Furthermore, IDEC serves as an extension of IDEM (International Dental Exhibition and Meeting), scheduled for 19-21 April 2024 in Singapore. Therefore, the success of IDEC 2023 plays an essential role in bridging the gap between international companies looking to enter the Indonesian market. Mr Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Vice President Asia-Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, shared, “I am positive that IDEC 2023’s success will pave the way for its continued growth in future editions, attracting even more local and international participants and exhibitors, and solidifying its status as the leading dental exhibition in Indonesia.”
IDEC 2023, the first edition held post-pandemic, generated tremendous enthusiasm among industry players, driven by dynamic and solution-oriented innovations in dental technology. This enthusiasm translated into a 20% increase in participation as compared to 2019.
Andy Wismarsyah, President Director of Traya International Exhibition, emphasised the continuous effort to innovate and align IDEC with the ever-evolving trends in dental healthcare. He expressed the hope that IDEC would continue to evolve and showcase various advancements in dental technology in the years to come.
Several exhibitors, both domestic and international, shared their positive impressions of IDEC 2023. One such exhibitor, J Morita, a Japanese company specialising in dental products like X-ray machines and dental units, has been operating in Indonesia since 2014. Muhammad Mauludin, Product Specialist Hand Instrument at J Morita, noted that this was J Morita’s second participation in IDEC. He expressed delight in witnessing the growing enthusiasm of visitors since the last edition. Through IDEC, J Morita introduced new products, including X-ray machines, to visitors. Muhammad Mauludin added, “Visitors to IDEC keep increasing year after year. We hope that this event can be a gateway for us to enhance our customer base in the future.”
Similarly, Biocetec, a South Korean brand, shared their positive impressions of IDEC 2023. The company specialises in ceramic brackets and bio-ceramic technology for dental braces. Although Biocetec’s products are available in 36 countries worldwide, particularly in Europe, they have yet to be distributed in Indonesia due to the absence of a local distributor. IDEC 2023 presented an opportunity for Biocetec to enter the Indonesian dental healthcare market. Paul Sung, Sales Division Assistant Manager at Biocetec, stated, “As a debut event, we consider IDEC 2023 as a chance to find distributors for our products in Indonesia. Additionally, we aim to foster relationships between Indonesia and South Korea in the field of
dental technology.”
One of the local exhibitors, PT Hexa Dental Indonesia, also benefited from IDEC 2023. Hexa Dental is an Indonesian company that provides various basic dental materials to dentists, such as dental impression materials. Sandy Azhari, Sales Manager at Hexa Dental, expressed his appreciation for IDEC 2023 for creating a space for domestic dental industry players like them to shine. He expressed optimism that the event would boost product sales and increase awareness of local products.
Visitors to IDEC have expressed an overall satisfaction with the event. One of the attendees, Cheviara Faliaschazty Hasnanigha, a dental student from Hang Tuah University in Surabaya travelled from Surabaya to Jakarta to attend IDEC 2023 to enrich her dental knowledge and explore the latest dental technology. Cheviara commented, “This exhibition is excellent because it showcases a wide range of technologies, especially as I’m currently looking for dental health instruments.”
